Springtime Renewal

March 2012

It is that glorious time of year when you can breathe in the fresh springtime air. Listen to the song of the morning birds. Inhale the fresh flower blooms. Connect with the preciousness of nature and take some time to plant your own seeds of renewal.

Live your dreams and enjoy this journey. Each of us has a wonderful opportunity to create a masterpiece or maybe you would rather produce something simple. Just remember, this is your life!! So ask yourself, do you like the movie you are living? If not, rewrite your script. Tune into a different channel. No one else can live your LIFE for you, it is up to you.

What are your thoughts? Do you think thoughts of joy and love or anger and fear? During these challenging times, it is easy to get caught up in the fear based media, economic gloom, or wrongful actions. How often do you think about what you want to create and what you contribute to this world with your thoughts, actions, and the way you move through this life? Watch the movie or drama called life, but do not get caught up in it. Detach, release, and let go. Hold yourself, family, community, and life work in your heart, and nurture them with love, laughter, and joy. Pay close attention to that beautiful mind of yours and feed it positive thoughts through your choices of music, media, people, and practices.

How do you care for your emotions? See what you can do to care for yourself and your feelings. Take some time to get into the ocean and cleanse your body mind, and spirit. Breathe and move your body in ways that allows you to express your feelings in a healthy manner. It is not appropriate to vent your anguish at your loved ones. Take care of yourself and take care of those dear to your heart.

Are you ready to cleanse your physical body? Springtime is a great opportunity to clear the sludge from your body, mind, and spirit. Consume plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables. Eat light or start a cleansing program. Listen to your body, (if you do not already do so). It will tell you what it needs.

Do you have a spiritual practice? Allow yourself some time to commune with nature, talk to God, and be at One with the greater Oneness of all that is. Make your spiritual practice a part of your daily routine. Prayer, meditation, and quiet time are necessary components for your overall health and well-being. It is especially important during these times of uncertainty and upheaval. Anchor yourself deep within your own being and find YOUR peace and serenity there.

Celebrate this Spring Equinox with some time in nature, prayer, and/or ceremony. This year the Spring Equinox falls on March 20, 2012. It is time of the year when the sun rises and sets at a close proximity to 12 hours apart. Get out into your garden, pull some weeds, and plant your new seeds with intention. Hold a clear idea in your mind of what you are planting for this new season. Invite your family and/or friends to participate. Place their intentions into the seeds while planting them into the earth. Your intentions can be whatever you would like to renew or bring forward in your life. It is a wonderful opportunity to “witness” each other—come together and attest to one another’s prayers. While planting, hold this space for each other. Visualize each person and see his/her dreams grow with each seed that is planted, and remember the sacred in your daily lives. Allow it to be a metaphor for your life as you plant the seeds of your garden, initiate, celebrate, and “spring forward.”
